Chinese Lunar Calendar
According to nong li, the crescent moon appears on the first day of each month, and the full moon is in the middle of the month.
This cycle lasts about 30 days.
The lunar calendar has 24 solar terms based on the Sun’s position.
For example, 'Lichun' or 'the beginning of Spring' signals that Spring is coming.
'Jingzhe,' or 'the waking of insects,' means the weather is getting warmer.
'Lixia,' or 'the beginning of Summer,' is when crops start to grow strongly.
'Dahan,' or 'the great cold,' marks the end of severe Winter.
All these create a cycle.
Year after year, people observe nature’s mysteries through the lunar calendar.
