 The musician Rubenstein often went to Picasso's studio to see him paint. Once, Rubenstein found Picasso kept painting the same thing in several months. The background was the balcony railings and the foreground was a table, a bottle of wine and a guitar.


 When Picasso drew nearly fifty pieces of the same work, Rubenstein asked impatiently, "Every day you portray the same still, aren't you tired?


 Picasso retorted, "Don't you think you are talking nonsense? Don't you know every hour is a new light, every minute I'm different? Although I look at the same bottle of wine, I can see a different personality, a different bottle, a different table and a different life in a different world. In my eyes, everything is different. "


 Since then, when repeating a song, Rubenstein could play a different flavor.


 音乐家鲁宾斯坦经常到毕加索的画室看他画画。一次,鲁宾斯坦在好几个月内看到毕加索不断地在画同样的东西。背景是阳台的铁栏杆,近景是一张桌子,一瓶葡萄酒、一把吉他。


 当毕加索画了将近50幅同样的作品后,鲁宾斯坦不耐烦地问道:“每天都描绘同样的静物,难道你不厌烦吗?


 毕加索反问道:“你不觉得自己在说废话?难道你不知道,每一分钟都是不同的我,每一小时都有新的光线,每天虽然看同一瓶酒,但我可以从中看到不同的个性,看到不同的酒瓶,看到不同的桌子,看到不同世界里的不同生命! 在我的眼睛里,这一切都是不同的。”
 
 从此以后,鲁宾斯坦在重复弹一首歌时,都能弹出不同的韵味。
