We use radar separation in our unit. There are many differences between radar separation and procedure separation. Firstly, radar separation is measured by distance, while procedure separation is measured by time. Secondly, procedure separation is bigger than radar separation because radar control is more accurate. Besides, radar separation is more widely used due to the popularization of radar control.

2. Is separation changeable in your control unit according tothe situationoftraffic intheair? Howcan youchangeit?

In my control unit, separation changeable is according to the situation of traffic in the air. When the weather is getting worse or military activities are carried out, in order to ensure the safe operation, we should change the separation by means of satisfying the required separation, such as speed adjustment, making orbits, making dog legs and soon.

3.Why is the minimum separation needed in air traffic control services?

Minimum separation is ared line that noone can cross. Minimum separation is important for controllers, it is the reference for controllers to issue instructions and can help us to ensure safety. All the instructions of controllers are to make sure that the separation between aircraft will not below minimum.
