Clever boy

The moral:  we should not be greedy and should not trust everyone we meet. Sometimes, people can be clever and deceive us. It is important to be careful and think before we act.

Once upon a time, there was a man who was on his way to the market with his donkey carrying two sacks of wheat. After walking for a while, he felt tired and decided to rest under a tree. He fell asleep and when he woke up, he could not see his donkey anywhere. He started searching for the donkey everywhere. On the way, he met a boy and asked him, “Have you seen my donkey?” The boy replied, “No, I haven’t seen your donkey, but I can help you find it.” The man was curious and asked, “How can you help me find my donkey?” The boy replied, “I am a clever boy. I can tell you where your donkey is, but you have to pay me for my services.” The man agreed and the boy said, “Your donkey is in the field nearby. It is pretending to be dead so that it doesn’t have to carry the heavy sacks of wheat anymore.” The man was surprised and went to the field to check. He found his donkey lying on the ground, pretending to be dead. The man realized that the boy was right and started to remove the sacks of wheat from the donkey’s back. As soon as the sacks were removed, the donkey got up and ran away. The man was left standing there, feeling foolish.
