This year, a 1,247 kg pumpkin from the US set a world reord. It is about the size of a double bed. How can people grow such big “monsters”? Start with a champion seed. Many champion pumpkins grow from the seed Atlantic Giant. The seed came from Canadian grower Howard Dill. In 1981, he made a world record with a 224 kg pumpkin. He then patented the seed.
