Wealth, Success and Love 财富、成功与爱情，孰重孰轻？
A woman came out of her house and saw three old men
with long white beards sitting in her front yard.

一个女人离开家看到三个留着长白胡子的老人站在她家门口。

She did not recognize them.
She said,
她不认识他们，于是对他们说：

"I don’t think I know you,
but you must be hungry.

“我觉得我不认识你们，我想你们一定是饿了。
Please come in and have something to eat."
请进来，吃些东西吧。”

"Is the man of the house home?"
they asked.

“这个家里的主人在家吗？”他们问道。

"No", she said.
"He’s out."

“不”，女士说，“他出去了”。

"Then we cannot come in,"
they replied.

“因此，我们不能进来。”他们回答。

In the evening when her husband came home,
she told him what had happened.

晚上，她丈夫回来了，她和他讲了发生的事情。“

“Go tell them I am home and invite them in.”

你去告诉他们现在我在家，请他们来吃点东西吧。

The woman went out and invited the men in.

于是女士走出家，请他们进来。

"We don’t go into a house together," they replied.

我们不一起进来。”他们说。

"Why is that?"

she wanted to know.

为什么呢？女士很想知道。

One of the old men explained:
"His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends.

其中一个老人解释到：“他的名字叫富裕。他边说边指着他的一个朋友，

”Pointing to another one,
he said, "He is Success."
接着又指着另外一个人说：“他叫成就，
Then he added,
"I am Love.

然后补充到：：我是爱。
Now go in and discuss with your husband
which one of us you want in your home."

接着他说：“你现在回家，和你的丈夫商量商量希望我们中的谁去你们家。”

The woman went in and told her husband what was said.
于是女人回了家和他讲了他们对她说的一切。

Her husband was overjoyed.
"How nice", he said.

丈夫非常的开心，太好了，丈夫说。
"Since that is the case,
let us invite Wealth.

那既然这样，我们邀请富裕。

Let him come and fill our home with wealth."

让他来我们家，让我们的家里充满富裕。”
His wife disagreed.

但是他的老婆却不认同。

"My dear, why don’t we invite Success?"

“亲爱的，我们为什么不邀请成就呢？”

Their daughter-in-law was listening
 from the other corner of the house.

他们的女儿在家的另一边认真地听着。
She jumped in with her own suggestion:
她跳出来说出了她的建议：

"Would it not be better to invite Love.
Our home will be filled with love."
“难道不应该邀请爱情来吗？这样我们的家里便会充满了爱情。”

"Let us heed our daughter-in-law’s advice,"
said the husband to his wife.

“我们就听我们女儿的建议吧。”先生对他的老婆说。

"Go out and invite Love to be our guest."

去邀请爱成为来家里吧。

The woman went out and asked the three old men,
女士出了家门，问询三位老者：

"Which one of you is Love?
Please come in and be our guest."

“你们中谁是爱，请进来吧，我们邀请的人是你。”

Love got up and started walking toward the house.
于是爱站起身开始向他们的家里走去。

The other two also got up and followed him.
接着其他两个人也跟随着他们进去了。

Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success:

家里的女主人惊讶的问富有和成就：

"I only invited Love,
why are you coming in?"

“我只是邀请了爱，为什么你们进来了呢？”

The old men replied together:
"If you had invited Wealth or Success
the other two of us would’ve stayed out,

…………
