Positivity Makes a Difference积极带来的影响

Positivity makes the difference between heaven and hell.

积极与否就是天堂和地狱的区别，

There is a Korean story that illustrates this.

这个韩国的故事就说明了这一点。

Once upon a time there was a little boy

很久以前，有个小男孩，

who used to pray to God for an opportunity to see heaven and hell

他向上帝祈祷，祈求有机会去看看天堂和地狱，

so that he could make up his mind on where to go.

这样，他就可以决定要去哪里了。

One day his prayers were answered.

一天，他的祈祷得到了回应，

God deputed an angel to guide the boy on his excursion to heaven and hell.

上帝安排了一个天使，带小男孩去看看天堂和地狱。

He was taken, first, to hell.

他先被带去了地狱，

What he saw there was different from all that he had heard about hell.

在那里，他看到的地狱与听到的有所不同，

He found a huge dining table piled up with excellent food

他看到的是一个巨大的餐桌，上面堆满了美味的事物，

and people sitting around the table looking famished and miserable.

人们围坐在桌子旁，看起来肚子很饿，表情很痛苦。

The reason for this was that they had to eat their food with chopsticks

原因是，他们不得不用筷子去吃东西，

and they were given chopsticks bigger than walking sticks,

而他们的筷子却比拐杖还要大，

with which they could not feed themselves.

用这样的筷子，事物根本无法喂到嘴边，

So they were all sitting in front of tasty and appetizing food,

因此，他们都只能坐在美味可口的食物前，

tortured by hunger but unable to eat.

忍受着饥饿的折磨，而无法食用。

The boy decided then and there that hell was not the place for him.

小男孩，当时就决定，地狱不是自己要去的地方。

So he was taken to heaven.

然后，他被带到了天堂，

On arrival there,

到那儿之后，

what he found truly astonished him.

所看到的，令他大吃一惊，

He found the same enormous table,

他发现天堂的桌子和地狱的一样大，

the same fabulous menu and even the same huge chopsticks.

同样是美味的食物，和拐杖一样大的筷子，

But there was a glorious difference;

但却有着鲜明的不同，

the people sitting around the table were looking visibly happy.

围坐在桌子旁的人们，明显看起来很高兴，

This surprised him no end.

这令他很惊讶，

Then, in a moment, the difference dawned on him.

接着，一瞬间的功夫，他意识到了不同，

Unlike the people in hell,

不像在地狱的人们，

these men and women were feeding each other

天堂的人们，都是你喂我，我喂你，

across the table with the long chopsticks.

用长长的筷子，伸过桌子去喂对面的人。

In simple terms,

简单的说，

they had the capacity to respond positively to each other and to the given problem.

他们对存在的问题，都做出了积极的回应，

The huge chopsticks were a problem only in respect of feeding oneself,

如果从自己喂自己这个角度来看，巨大的筷子确实是一个问题，

but they were a blessing in respect of feeding their neighbors sitting at a distance.

但如果从喂离自己有一定距离的旁边人这个角度看，却是一种馈赠。

Heaven, in short, is a place where people respond positively to each other.

天堂，简言之，就是一个人们积极思考的地方，

As a matter of fact,

事实上，

there are many“huge chopsticks”in our way to success.

在我们通向成功的道路上，有很多“巨大的筷子”，

Only when we react positively to them

当我们积极的面对困难的时候，

can we transform the problems into driving force

我们就可以把问题转化为动力，

and finally achieve success.

最终，取得成功。

So you see, positivity also makes the difference between success and failure.

所以你看，积极与否也决定了你的成功和失败。
