The British Museum is now deluged with renewed calls to give back contested objects as countries like Greece, Nigeria, and China have become increasingly vocal that cultural artifacts that were seized or looted by colonial forces should be returned to where they came from. 

To compound its problems, raising a huge sum for an impending refurbishment looks to be an uphill battle.
