634 – 沙尘暴 Sandstorm

I’m now on the flight from Beijing to Amsterdam. We just experienced a bumpy takeoff. It was mainly due to the gusty wind. The sky is covered with a yellowish dome of dust. I found it even hard to keep my eyes open while standing in the gale. This is a typical sandstorm. My dad told me that they hadn’t seen weather like this for many years. But this is the third sandstorm I have encountered during my trip to Beijing. The chance to be hit by three sandstorms in a row is quite rare. They made my trip back to my hometown, Beijing, truly a memorable one.
