Happiness

Once upon a time…there was a person coming to a new village, relocating,  and he was wondering if he would like it there, so he went to a zen master and asked:

“Do you think I will like it in this village? Are the people nice?”

The master asked back:

“How were the people in the town where you came from?”

“They were nasty and greedy, they were angry and lived for cheating and stealing”, said the newcomer.

“Those are exactly the type of people we have in this village”, said the master.

A day later, another newcomer to the village visited the master and asked the same question:

To which the master asked: “How were the people in the town where you come from?”

“They were sweet and lived in harmony, they cared for one another and for the land, they respected each other and they were seekers of spirit,” he replied.

“Well, those are exactly the type of people we have in this village.”, said the master.

You see in life, in your life, whatever you see in the world, the world will see in you.

See hope, see good, see love and the world will see the same in you. But if you only see the nasty and greedy part of people that is what they will see in you. Be good to the world and the world will be good to you. Give love to the world and the world will give love to you.

幸福

从前……有一个人来到一个新的村庄，搬家了，他想知道他是否喜欢那里，所以他去找一位禅师问：

“你觉得我会喜欢这个村子吗？人很好吗？”

大师反问：

“你来自的镇上的人怎么样？”

“他们下流、贪婪、愤怒，以欺骗和偷窃为生”，这位新来者说。

师傅说：“我们村里就是这种人。”

一天后，村里又有新人来拜访师父，问了同样的问题：

师问：“你所来城中人如何？”

“他们很甜蜜，和睦相处，他们互相关心，关心这片土地，他们互相尊重，他们是精神的追求者，”他回答道。

“嗯，这正是我们这个村子里的那种人。”师傅说。

在你的生活中，无论你在世界上看到什么，世界都会在你身上看到。

看到希望，看到美好，看到爱，世界也会在你身上看到同样的东西。但如果你只看到人们讨厌和贪婪的部分，他们就会在你身上看到。对世界好，世界也会对你好。给世界爱，世界也会给你爱。
