"I want a picture to put on my wall."said Harold.

“我想在墙上挂幅画。”阿罗说。

He drew a house with his purple crayon.

他用紫色的蜡笔在墙上画了一个房子。

More houses made a little town.

接着他又画了更多的房子，组成了一个小镇。

It was far away.

但这些还远远不够。

The town had woods and hills around it.

小镇还需要有森林和小山围绕着。

And it was at the end of a long road.

接着阿罗画了长长的路，在长长的道路尽头。

"It will look pretty in the moonlight."said Harold.

“月光下的小镇一定很美。”哈罗德想着。

And he stepped up into the picture to draw the moon.

然后他站到图画中开始画月亮。

He looked down at the houses.

他向下俯视着这些房子，

"I am a giant!"he said.

“我真是个巨人！”他想着。

But a giant would scared all the people in town.

但是巨人会吓到这些小镇的居民的。、

"It is good no one get up and saw me."said Harold.

“还好大家都在睡觉，没人看到我，”阿罗说。

He walked over the hills.

他跨过这些小山，

"How big I am!"he said.

“我真大！”他想着。

Harold's head was above the clouds.

阿罗的头比云朵还要高。

With a few steps,he came to the end of the land.

等他再走几步的时候，他已经来到了这块土地的尽头。

And at the end of any land,there's water.

土地的尽头，一般都是有水的。

"It is the sea."said Harold.

“这是海。”阿罗说。

"There are sea gulls."

“这里还有海鸥。”

Harold was big enough to walk through the sea.

阿罗大到可以在海中行走。

A great big ship went by.It was an ocean liner.

一艘大船驶过，这是一艘邮轮。

A big whale came up in the wave,spouting water.

一条大鲸在海浪中游着，边游边喷着水。

And just ahead of Harold was an old sailing ship.

在哈罗德的前头，有一艘旧帆船。

He easily caught up with it and passed it.

他轻松地追上了它并且超过了它。

The sea ended anginst at the steep hill.

海的另一边是陡峭的悬崖。

Harold needs some rocks to step on.

阿罗需要一些石头踩着上岸。

He climbed out of the sea and onto the hill.

他从海中爬出来走上了岸。

Then,he saw the ship was too near the rocks.

然后他发现船离岸边的这些岩石太近了。

He put up a lighthouse to show the sailors.

于是他在岸边画了一个灯塔，这样船上的人就能看到这些岩石。

And he went on his way over high mountains.

接着，他又画了一些高山，

Harold was taller than the highest mountain.

阿罗比其中最高的高山还要高。

"I am higher than anything!"he said.

“我比什么都要高呢！”阿罗说。

Then,suddleny,he thought of airplanes.

然后，突然他又想画一些飞机。

Harold ducked his head just in time.

阿罗及时低下了头，飞机从他头上飞过。

It was a big jet plane,flying very fast.

这是一架大型喷气式分机，飞得快极了。

There might have been a bad accident.

差一点就要发生事故了呢。

Harold found a low place in the mountains.

阿罗在山间发现了低谷。

It was a good place for a railroad to go through.

这里正适合修铁路。

It came out onto a long flat field.

铁路在长长的平原上搭建起来。

Harold put some birds and flowers near the tracks.

阿罗在铁路两边画上了一些鸟儿和花朵。

"people like to see things from trains."he said.

“人们喜欢在火车上看到一些风景。”他想着。

He went on,drawing tracks and birds and flowers.

他继续画着铁路，鸟儿和花朵。

And he had to keep looking out for trains. 

同时还要小心有火车开过来。

It was a big job for a small boy.

对于一个小男孩来说，这可是个大工程。

And all of a suddden he saw how small he had become.

然后，突然之间，他发觉自己好小啊。

He was half the size of a daisy!

他只有半朵雏菊那么高！

He was smaller than a bird!

他比鸟儿还要小！

How would he get home?

他要怎么回家呢？

He could not wade home through the ocean.

他不能从海中蹚水回家了。

He could not climb those high mountains.

他也爬不过这些高山。

And,just then, he fell into a mouse hole.

就在那时，他掉进了一个老鼠洞。

"Excuse me."he said to the mouse.

“抱歉。”他对老鼠说。

Then Harold sat down on a pebble to think.

然后阿罗坐到鹅卵石上开始想办法。

After a minute or two, he stood up again.

过了大概一到两分钟，他又站起来了。

"This is only a picture!"he said.

“这只是幅画呀！”他想到。

And he took his crayon and he crossed it out.

于是，他拿出蜡笔把这些都叉掉。

"I am not big or little.I am my usual size!" 

“我不大也不小，我就是我平常的大小！”

But how could he be sure about that?

但是，他怎么能确保这一点呢？

At home he was always his usual size.

在家的时候，他一直都是那个尺寸。

So he drew a door of his room.

所以，他在房间里画了一扇门。

There was a long mirror on the back of the door.

在门的背后是一面长长的镜子。

"Yes,"said Harold."I am my usual size."

“是的，”阿罗看着镜子说，“我还是平时的大小。”

He was glad to be back in his room.

终于回到自己的房间了，他很开心。

He was tired.

他好累啊。

But he had no picture to hang on his wall.

但是他现在没有画挂在墙上了。

So,before he went to bed,

所以，在他睡觉之前，

He drew another picture.

他又画了另外一幅画。
