There is a school of thought that states senior executives and positions such as Chief Executive Officers of sizable companies and corporations should earn more than other staff membersan opinion I agree with for the following reasons.

One of the main reasons for why senior-level managers should earn greater incomes than regular employees is simply because of the responsibility they must bearThese responsibilities include being held accountable by stakeholdershaving some form of liability for all decisions that affect a specific department or the whole company, and for performance numbers such as profit margins, productivity, and quality metrics, all of which are not within the purview of lower-level staffSuch obligations of guiding the company to expansive growth and maintaining or expanding revenue in the way of sales can weigh heavily on the minds of those charged with such duties, and as a consequence, higher remuneration than those with lesser responsibilities is only fair.

Another reason for paying senior management higher salaries, and for which is a factor that in some way is related to the above reason, is that these managers usually take on leadership roles of great importance. In a sense, these senior executives are designated with the role of leading and guiding other staff members within their scope, and that for some executives, such as COOs and CEOs, can even mean being responsible for the whole workforce of the company. Coupled with the education and experience many of these individuals have groomed themselves with, it again only seems suitable and wholly appropriate to reward them with greater monetary benefits than those in non-executive positions

In conclusion, due to directors, chiefs, and senior managers having a great deal more responsibility than regular staffand also including the fact these higher-ups have intense stress to handle from their leadership dutiesit is my opinion that it is completely justifiable to pay them more than other positions that have a reduced pressure load
