Describe a activityyou enjoyed in your free time when you were young 童年喜欢的活动
You should say:
What it was
Where you did it
Who you did it with
And explain why you enjoyed it
In mychildhood, I used to play a plethora of games such as carrom board, hopscotch, hide and seek, and snakes and ladders. But believe me, when I was younger, Iknew only one sport, the table tennis. This topic is atrip down memory lane(回忆往事)from decades ago. Iused to play this sport in my town’s park with my brother and in my schoolduring breaktime. Well, i got a hang of table tennis when my my brother taughtme some skills about it. It's still unclouded how strong-willed I was toenlist(获得)my brother's assistance in teaching me how to play itbecause all of my friends could participate in a bunch of sports. To be honest,I'm a scaredy cat(胆小鬼); I'mafraid of basketball and volleyball because they might smack me in the face. So, instead, mybenevolent(仁爱的)brothersuggested that I learn table tennis. I couldn't believe sports could be sobonzer(卓越的). It also helped me to be health-conscious because I wasalways put throughrigorous(严格的)trainingfrom my brother. Furthermore, it helps me to stay in shape, teaches me how toorganize my time, boosts friendships, and builds relationships with my peersand adults. Overall, playing table tennis has given me a sense of fulfillmentbecause it has taught me how to work as a team toward a common goal and hasmade me appreciate the value of sportsmanship.
Part 3
1.Is it important to have a break during work or study?
Well, ofcourse! To mellow out from studying every 50 to 90 minutes appears to be themost finely tuned approach to maintain productivity, motivation, and focus. Most productive workers, on the other hand, work for about 50 minutes and thentake a 15-minute break. The golden hour ofpotency(效力)is between15 and 20 minutes. It's long enough for your brain todisengage(脱离)and leave you feeling refreshed, but not long enough for youto lose focus and losemomentum(动力)on your tasks. Furthermore, rest and sleep, as well as timespent exercising, have been shown to benefit our immune system. It also reducesinflammation and the risk of heart disease. Therefore, taking a break isimperative(必要的)to wardoff stress, keep fit asa fiddle(保持健康)and sustain ball-of-fire performance throughout theday.
2.What sports do young people like to do now?
Nowadays, young people enjoy a plethora offrolicking(嬉闹)sports activities. Many young people, for example, enjoyplaying badminton, riding bicycles, practicing Tai Chi, walking, and running.Aside from that, some sportsacquainted(获得)fromother cultures, such as basketball, tennis, and track and field, are alsopopular. Running, on the other hand, is one of the mostprominent(突出的)and well-liked sports among the younger generation. Firstand foremost running is economical for less than a hundred bucks almosteveryone can kit themselves out with the latest branded sweat-wicking,reflective, trendy gear. Second, running is physicallyexhausting(疲惫的)but mentally and emotionallyrevitalizing(恢复).Lastly, every run presents a new provocation, a new window to push ourselves, and a newtime to mull over(深思熟虑)oneverything else going on so it’s reallyinevitable(不可避免的)that so many people enjoy playing it.
3.Are there more activities for young people now than 20 yearsago?
Well, being young issynonymous(同义)withrevolution(改革),breakthrough(突破), and theimminent(即将发生的).So, regardless of being the first generation whose liveshave beensaturated(饱和的)bymobile technology and social media, there are definitely an overcrowdedactivities for teenagers nowadays. Younger generations are moredrenched(沉浸)inextracurricular activities than previous generations, and they are evenattending extra classes and tutors to ensure that they can getadequate(足够的)learning that will allow them togrind(磨练)their practical skills. In comparison to previousgenerations, most young people settled upon at home and read books orplay in their yards. Some embraced to learn household chores such as cookingand gardening in their spare time, which is out of the ordinary nowadays. Tosummarize, as culturemetamorphosed(变质), particularly with new technologies, young peopleacclimated(适应)and are now more involved in asmorgasbord(各式各样的)of activities than they were decades ago.
4.Can most people balance work and life in China?
To be honest, balancing work and life is not apiece of cake(小菜一碟)for Chinese people. The firstreason is that, as society has evolved(发达的), most people in this contemporary era(当代)have a packed life. Most of us are under a lot of work and studypressure. As a result, we intensively need to devote more time to work or studythan to leisurepursuits(休闲活动). For example, some adults workextra hours in their spare time, especially if they need to meet a projectdeadline. As a result, theyexhaust(耗尽)their energy for work and areunable to spend quality time with their loved ones or engage in recreationalactivities. Nevertheless, because of the social environment, many people wantto promote and progress in their careers. As a result, they spend their timedoing things like going to school and improving their social skills rather thanhaving fun. Furthermore, students must work hard in order to achieve theirdesired grades, which will benefit their future careers. As a result, they mustalsoburn theirmidnight oil to study(熬夜学习). Hence, the majority of Chinese people, in my opinion, are unable tobalance work and life.
5.What activities do children and adults do nowadays?
According to my observations, children and adultsengage in different activities on a daily basis. Most young people have a whale of a time(大量时间)playing phone games and watchingfascinating videos on tiktok and other social media platforms as a means of entertainment.Other young people live a healthy lifestyle because they actively engage insports or extreme activities to keep themselvesoccupied(忙碌的). However, it isintuitive(直观的)for our parents to get littleexercise because they need to focus more on their jobs in order to make ends meet(维持生计). Aside from that, they areconstantly overburdened( 负担过重的)with household chores such ascleaning the house, washing clothes and dishes, and caring for family members. To summarize, different age groups have different activities that they areeager to get involved in.
6.Do adults and children have enough time for leisureactivities nowadays?
To be honest, I believe that individuals of any agedo not have sufficient time for beer and skittles(吃喝玩乐). Children, as I previouslystated, must remain awake later or stay at school longer in order to submittheir homework. Needless to say(毋庸置疑), mostguardians(监护人)are eager to improve theirchildren's abilities by enrolling them in a variety of after-school classeswhich bear a significant burden on the study assignments. They, like adults, must put their nosesto the grindstone(埋头苦干)in order to provide for the needsand desires of their family or to improve the quality of their family life. Asa result, people nowadays don't have enough time for leisure; rather, they canonly enjoy their lives when they don't have any extra work to do on holidays orweekends.
