Los Angeles newly appointed Mayor Karen Bass declared the homeless crisis a state of emergency, adding the first push to bring people indoors from encampments would cost 100 million US dollars as there are about 40,000 homeless people in the City of Angels, with about 28,000 of them unsheltered.
