Hey there, I'mShen Xiaoya, SMG's GenZ host. The just concluded 20th CPC National Congress setthe tone for China's future development over the coming five years and beyond.
GenZ is of course in the limelight as the older half of the generation has just entered the workforce, while the tail end of the generation is planning for places in graduate programs or the job market.
What do China's Gen Zers plan for their future? And what's their take on their overseas peers' thinking about the issue? Let's find out more.

Varvara Savilova

As you have just stepped (or willsoon step) out into society, how do you deal with the pressure surrounding employment?
Actually, I think it’s quite normal. For me, there is no particular pressure. I just take things as they are. Gold will always find a way to shine.
Pressure comes from our own shortcomings. For me, I overcome the pressure by studying harder and doing more practice. But sometimes, we have to accept our own ordinariness.
Esra Oncar(土耳其):
Like many young people, I do deal with anxiety over finding a job. But I’m trying to fight with it with further education and self-development.

Jesslyn Wong
Yes, everybody is working so hard. It’s impossible for me to slack off. So,I roll up my sleeves and get to it.

They save money, and they don’t waste money. But my view of consumption is that I consume only to please myself. As long as I can afford it, I will buy it. I don’t consider the long term.

My family has plans to buy a car. We are probably going to get a new energy vehicle.

I just want to be happy from day to day. Everyone is more or less under some kind of pressure. People always say that they are emotional. I also hope to stay positive and rid myself of negative emotions and better develop myself.
