薄言采芑，于彼新田，于此菑亩。方叔莅止，其车三千。师干之试，方叔率止。乘其四骐，四骐翼翼。路车有奭，簟茀鱼服，钩膺鞗革。

蠢尔蛮荆，大邦为仇。方叔元老，克壮其犹。方叔率止，执讯获丑。戎车啴啴，啴啴焞焞，如霆如雷。显允方叔，征伐玁狁，蛮荆来威。

Let's gather millet white
In newly broken land.
General Fang will alight
Here to take the command.
Three thousand cars arrive
With his great well trained forces.
The general takes a drive
On four black and white horses.
Four piebalds in a row
Draw chariot red and green，
With reins and hooks aglow
Seal skin and bamboo screen.

And then here they alight.
General Fang comes nigh;
Three thousand cars arrive;
His well-trained soldiers come.
General Fang leads the drive;
Men jingle and beat drum.
His forces in array,
The general has good fame,
Drums rolling on display
And flags streaming in flame.

You southern savages dare
To invade our great land.
Our General Fang is there;
At war he's a good hand.

To make captives of the crowd.
His chariot drawn by horses
Now rumbles now rolls loud
Like clap or roll of thunder.
