I think students benefit from going on field trips for the following reasons. First, students can learn from a different environment. When we go on field trips, we can observe live animals in a zoo; touch and feel rocks in a cave; see real documents from the past in a museum. Learning in a real-life setting is so much better than reading textbooks. On the other hand, it’s boring to sit in a stuffy classroom, listening to the teacher going on and on for hours. Students will try to focus, but they will be distracted sooner or later.
