性相近 习相远

子曰：“性相近也，习相远也。”

 【翻译】

 孔子说：“人们的本性是相近的，后天的习染惯使人们之间相差甚远了。

James Legge:

The Master said: “ By nature,men are nearly alike; by practice, they get to be widely apart.”

辜鸿铭：

Confuciusremarked: “ Men, in their nature, are alike,  but by practice they become widely different.”
