If you describe a situation as a Catch-22, you mean it is an impossible situation because you cannot do one thing until you do another thing, but you cannot do the second thing until you do the first thing.

【来源】

The term comes from the title of a novel by Joseph Heller(1961), in which the main character feigns madness in order to avoid dangerous combat missions , but his desire to avoid them is taken to prove his sanity.

这个词来自约瑟夫·海勒(Joseph Heller) 1961年的一部小说的名字《第二十二条军规》，书中的主角为了逃避危险的战斗任务而装疯，但他想要逃避这些任务的渴望又被用来证明他是理智的。
