第15集-没有什么可以比拟一个孩子暗自怀抱的爱情

“Oh, it's just someone who lives in the house”, I saidawkwardly. “Then why did you blush so fiery red when he looked at you?”Enquired my schoolfellow with the malice of an inquisitive child. I felt thatshe was making fun of me, and was reaching out towards my secret, and thiscolored my cheeks more than ever. I was deliberately rude to her.  “Yousilly idiot!” I said angrily-I should have liked to throttle her. She laughedmockingly, until the tears came into my eyes from impotent rage. I left her atthe door and ran upstairs.

I have loved you ever since. I know full well that you areused to hearing women say that they love you. But I am sure that no one elsehas ever loved you so slavishly, with such doglike fidelity, with suchdevotion, as I did and do. Nothing can equal the unnoticed love of a child. Itis hopeless and subservient; it is patient and passionate; it is somethingwhich the covetous love of a grown woman, the love that is unconsciouslyexacting, can never be.

 ‘唉，大概是住在我们这栋楼里的先生吧!’我结结巴巴地说。“‘奇怪了，他只不过看你一眼，你怎么就满脸通红了!’我女同学带着一种孩子气的恶意好奇地说。我觉得她是在讽刺我，而且在窥探我的秘密，我觉得一股热气直往脸上冲，脸更红了。我不禁恼羞成怒，真恨不得把她给活活掐死，我很生气地朝她骂了一句：‘你这个蠢丫头!’没想到她笑得更开心了，直到我被气得泪水涌上了眼眶。最后，我干脆不理她，一口气跑上楼去。

自那后，我便死心塌地地爱上了你。我知到，你这样一个深受女人宠爱的男人，一定听过不少女人对你这么说。可是，请你相信我，没有一个女人像我这样全心全意、始终如一地爱着你，过去是这样，现在也是一样。这世上没有什么东西比得上一个孩子暗自怀抱的爱情。我的爱不要求任何回报，不抱任何期待，只是心甘情愿地默默守候着你。这和成熟女人那种欲求不满，不自觉贪求无厌的爱情是完全不同的。
