Hello, listeners. How are you doing? First of all, a quick reminder, for any listeners in the Paris area, Hello, Parisian Leapsters, Bonjour or Borsoir. This is just a reminder about the talk that I'm doing at the British Council at the Anvil Lead Center in Paris on Thursday. The 19th of May at 7pm.

I'm doing a talk at the British Council. Did you get it a Thursday? The 19th of May at 7 PM. I'll be doing some storytelling in front of a live audience and you can be there. If you want, it'll be sort of a mix of stand-up storytelling and podcasting all at the same time as well as a social gathering afterwards with a few drinks.
00:42
All in English, of course you can drink wine in English or soft drinks if you prefer. So I'll be on the stage. Telling the story of how I ended up sick in a Japanese hospital bed. It's an old story that I told on the podcast years ago I'm actually gonna do it in front of a live audience, just I ended up seeking a Japanese hospital bed.
01:03
I didn't know why I was there. I just knew I was really, really sick. I was scared out of my mind. For some reason, I thought I was gonna die or something. I didn't know what was going on. Now that sounds quite scary but the idea is to make the story funny and entertaining and it's a true personal story of travelling living in another country and how things can sometimes get completely lost in translation, leading to some rather dramatic experiences and if you want to come and be part of the audience you can it's free.
01:32
Everyone is invited. I will be recording it for the podcast but if you want to actually be there in the room and have a drink afterwards and socialise in English and so on, then you are welcome. You need to book a seat though and you can do that at British Council dot FR.
01:48
That's British council dot FR and then click event more, that's events in French. My event is called talks in English. Le shock culturalist, which translates those talks in English culture shock comedian. We couldn't really, we were struggling to think of a good title for this. We didn't want to call it sick in Japan for some reason we.
02:12
So anyway it's it ended up being the shock culturalist which means culture shock comedian. So that's the title of it. So British council to FR events and then find that event and then you can sort of book your seats there again, completely free. That's it. All right. So I hope to see you there.
02:32
It's gonna be fun and if it goes, well, I will publish it for the podcast. If it doesn't go well, then I won't. And, you know, if you want to have a chance to see, it's going either, really, really, really well or really really badly, which would be entertaining too.
