The quality and quantity of Chinese intellectual property continued to rise in 2021, with 696,000 invention patents authorized throughout the year, a senior official said. China's intellectual property industry has developed rapidly over the past five years. 
4月24日举行的新闻发布会上，国家知识产权局局长申长雨介绍，2021年，我国知识产权创造量质齐升。全年共授权发明专利69.6万件。过去五年里我国知识产权事业不断发展。

Shen Changyu, head of the National Intellectual Property Administration, said at a news conference on Sunday that last year, the number of authorized invention patents reached 2.53 million, an average annual growth rate of 13.4 percent over the past five years. The number of registered trademarks hit 27.7 million, an average annual growth rate of 29 percent over the same period. The number of high-value invention patents reached 7.5 per 10,000 people in 2021, up from 6.3 in 2020.
申长雨局长表示，这五年来累计授权发明专利约253万件，年均增长13.4%；累计注册商标约2770万件，年均增长29%。2021年，我国知识产权创造量质齐升。全年共授权发明专利69.6万件。截至2021年底，国内(不含港澳台)每万人口高价值发明专利拥有量达到7.5件，较上年提高1.2件。

Canton Fair sees new records
广交会闭幕创多个历史新高

Despite offline campaigns being suspended due to the latest COVID-19 resurgence, the time-honored China Import and Export Fair concluded its 131st biannual session on Sunday in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou with many new records. The 10-day event, also known as the Canton Fair, attracted a record-high of over 25,000 domestic and overseas exhibitors, with over 2.9 million exhibits displayed online. Over 30 percent of the exhibits made their debut, while over 480,000 exhibits featured green and low carbon. 
4月24日，第131届广交会圆满落幕。虽受新冠疫情影响很多线下活动被迫按下“暂停键”，但为期十天的第131届广交会仍创下多个历史新高。本届广交会逾2.5万家境内外企业云上参展，展品超290万件，创历史新高。展品中超过30%为新品、绿色低碳展品超48万件。

Among domestic exhibitors in this session of the Canton Fair, 18,400 enterprises were engaged in exports in the first quarter of the year, with a total export value of over 440 billion yuan, up 6.8 percent year-on-year, according to the latest statistics from Guangzhou Customs.
海关统计数据显示，本届参展企业有出口实绩的企业超1.84万家，一季度出口总额逾4400亿人民币，比去年同期增长6.8%。

China to pilot domestic, foreign trade integration in selected regions
商务部：择优择地开展内外贸一体化试点

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on Thursday said that it will work with related agencies to carry out pilot programs for the integrated development of domestic and foreign trade in selected regions. The move is aimed at clearing institutional obstacles to the integration of domestic and foreign trade, helping market players make full use of the two markets and realizing the efficient operation of domestic and foreign trade, MOC spokesperson Gao Feng said during an online news briefing. 
商务部4月21日表示，将会同有关部门择优选择部分地区开展内外贸一体化试点。商务部新闻发言人高峰在线上新闻发布会上说，此举旨在破除内外贸一体化制度性障碍，帮助市场主体充分利用国内国际两个市场两种资源，实现内外贸的高效运行。

Specific tasks include pushing the alignment of rules, giving full play to the roles of free trade pilot zones and free trade ports, enhancing reforms and innovation, and promoting the effective connection of domestic and foreign trade rules. The regions will actively convert domestic and international standards, and improve the mutual recognition level for inspection, quarantine, certification and accreditation, according to MOC.
具体任务包括推动规则对接，充分发挥自贸试验区、自由贸易港的示范引领作用，加大改革创新力度，促进内外贸规则有效衔接。据商务部介绍，这些地区将会积极开展国内国际标准转化，提升检验检疫、认证认可互认水平。

Macron wins French presidential runoff
马克龙赢得法国总统选举获连任

France's President Emmanuel Macron beat his far-right rival, Marine Le Pen, in the second-round runoff on Sunday and won another five-year term in office. Macron won 58.8 percent of the votes, compared with 41.2 percent by Le Pen, according to an estimate from the Ipsos polling institute after most polling stations closed at 7 pm local time; those in large cities, such as Paris, closed at 8 pm. The 44-year-old Macron has, therefore, become the first president of France to win re-election since Jacques Chirac in 2002.
当地时间4月24日举行的法国总统选举第二轮投票中，现任法国总统马克龙击败极右翼政党“国民联盟”候选人玛丽娜•勒庞，成功连任。当地时间4月24日19点，法国大多数投票站关闭，巴黎等一些大城市的投票站一小时后也关闭，主要民调机构Ipsos发布的出口民调结果显示，马克龙的得票率约为58.8%，勒庞的得票率约为41.2%。44岁的马克龙成为20年来首位成功连任的法国总统。在2002年的总统选举中，时任总统雅克•希拉克击败对手获得连任。
