1.2022 WINTER PARALYMPIC GAMES TORCH RELAY STARTS TODAY

冬残奥火炬传递开启

The torch relay for the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games has begun a three-day journey covering three competition zones, Beijing, 延庆 District, and 张家口. Zhang Yue has the details.

为期三天的北京2022年冬残奥会火炬传递将在北京、延庆、张家口三个赛区进行。

The Paralympic Heritage Flame【冬残奥会官方火种】 was lit yesterday in Stoke Mandeville, a village northwest of London in the UK, regarded as the birthplace of the Paralympic Games. Another eight flames will be collected at locations in the three competition zones in and around Beijing. The locations feature special schools and libraries for the blind; cultural and historical landmarks; and the 2008 Beijing Summer Paralympic Games flame collection site. At the Beijing School for the Blind, teachers and students lit the flame with song. When the volume of their singing reached a certain level, an audio system triggered the flame into life.

冬残奥会官方火种昨天在残奥运动的发源地-英国伦敦西北部的斯托克曼德维尔采集成功。其它8路火种采集地点将涵盖北京及其附近的三个赛区。这些地点设有盲人特殊学校和盲人图书馆；文化和历史地标；以及2008年北京夏季残奥会火种采集地点。在北京市盲人学校，老师和学生用歌声点燃了火焰。当他们的歌声到达一定分贝的时候，音频升压器就会触及点火器，点燃火种。

At the Grand Canal’s Caoyun Wharf in Beijing’s Tongzhou District this morning（March 3rd）, water from the Yangtze River, Yellow River, Yongding River, and Grand Canal were collected to be put into the flame igniter【点火器】 to light the fire up. At Badaling great wall, international performers danced to express their wishes for world peace. All nine flames will be united as one at the Temple of Heaven to become the Beijing Winter Paralympic Games Flame, where the flame was collected during the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

今天(3月3号)早上在北京通州区的大运河漕运码头，收集了来自长江、黄河、永定河和大运河的水，将它们共同注入采火器的水槽，点燃这里的"源流之火"。在八达岭长城，中外舞蹈家们通过跳舞来表达他们对世界和平的祝愿。9路火种都将在曾作为2008年北京夏残奥会的火种采集地的天坛公园汇集，生成北京2022年冬残奥会官方火种。

2.SALVAGE OF 160-YEAR-OLD WOODEN SHIPWRECK BEGINS IN SHANGHAI

"长江口二号"正式开启打捞工程

Salvage of a 160-year-old shipwreck, named Yangtze No.2 Ancient Shipwreck, started this morning（March 3rd）. It is the largest and best-preserved wooden shipwreck discovered underwater in China to date. Zhang Hong tells us more.

今天(3月3号)一艘有160年历史的沉船，名"长江口二号"的古沉船的打捞正式开启。这是迄今为止中国水下发现的最大、保存最完好的木船沉船。

Yangtze No.2 Ancient Shipwreck was submerged at a depth of 5.5 meters below the seabed in the waters of Hengsha shoal in the northeast of Hengsha island in Shanghai’s Chongming District. Shanghai Administration of Cultural Heritage discovered the shipwreck almost 8 years ago. The ship is about 38.5 meters long and 7.8 meters at its widest. It has 31 cabins and is loaded with exquisite【精美的】 cultural relics.

"长江口二号"沉船掩埋于上海崇明区东北部横沙水域海床5.5米深处。上海市文物局在近8 年前发现了该沉船。这艘船长约38.5米，最大宽度约7.8米。它有31间船舱，里面装满了精美的文物。

"We were excited to see porcelain, cups and bowls well-preserved in the cabin. So it’s not only a discovery of cultural relics, but also a chance to recover a historic period. The ancient shipwreck is like a time capsule. We’ll be able to know the life of people from 150 years ago using modern technologies." 当我们看到船舱里排列得整整齐齐的船货瓷器时，还是很震撼很激动的。所以水下考古不止是发现文物，而实际上是做一个科学的历史复原。我们也称水下考古的这些古船是时间的胶囊。因为我们现在通过高科技手段可以了解到150年前的历史。

As the waters where the ship is located are about 8 to 10 meters deep, the ship will be wrapped up by 22 large curved beams from the bottom, creating a 51-meter long, 19-meter wide and 9-meter tall "box". The shipwreck and mud surrounding it will then be pulled out of water together.

由于该船所在的水域深约8至10米，该船将从底部被22根弯曲的大梁包裹起来，形成一个51米长、19米宽和9米高的“盒子”。然后，沉船和周围的淤泥将被一起从水中拉出来。

"The water flow speed of the Yangtze River is quite high. If someone falls into the river, you’ll not be able to toss a life buoy as the water is flowing so fast. So we need to develop new equipment for the salvage【打捞】. We adapted the technology used to build metro line tunnels in Shanghai." 长江流速很快，打个比方，一个同志掉水里你拿救生圈丢给他，你是丢不到他身边的。所以我们必须自主开发一套全新打捞设备。参考的基础是原先运用在上海大中城市地铁车站的技术。

The salvage is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The shipwreck will be transported to the previous site of Shanghai Shipyard Company along the Yangpu riverside. A museum will be built for the shipwreck.

打捞工作预计将于年底完成。古船将被运往位于杨浦滨江的上海船厂旧址。并将在此筹建长江口二号古船博物馆。

The city also plans to build a replica of the ship and will invite people to board the ship for a tour on Huangpu River.

未来，上海还将仿照长江口二号建造一艘上海沙船，供市民登船领略浦江风光。

3.CHINESE, UKRAINIAN FMS HOLD TALKS OVER CRISIS

中国侨民以及在乌留学人员撤离持续推进

Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a phone conversation at the request of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleiba on Tuesday. Wang elaborated【强调】 on China’s position with regard to ensuring the safety of Chinese nationals in Ukraine, and urged the Ukrainian side to assume the corresponding international responsibilities. Lei Shuran has more.

国务委员兼外长王毅昨天应约同乌克兰外长库列巴通电话。王毅重点就确保中国在乌公民安全表明立场，并督促乌方承担相应国际责任。

China appreciates Ukraine’s launch of special evacuation trains for foreign nationals, which is in line with the international humanitarian spirit. Wang said he hopes the Ukrainian side will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals in Ukraine and continue to provide guarantees and facilitate their evacuation. After the first batch of Chinese students left Kiev for Moldova on Monday, another 106 Chinese students had evacuated Ukraine to Poland at midnight.

王毅表示，中方赞赏乌方开设外国侨民撤离专列，希望乌方采取一切必要措施确保在乌中国公民安全，并继续为中国公民撤离提供保障和便利。中方赞赏乌克兰推出符合国际人道主义精神的外国人特别疏散列车。在第一批中国留学生周一从基辅撤离，抵达摩尔多瓦后，又有106名中国在乌留学生在凌晨顺利通关进入波兰境内。

"The students must be very tired, but now I guess they’re feeling a bit of relieved since they’ve arrived in Poland. We’ve got enough necessities for them on the car, like water, biscuits, sausages, blankets and some medicine." 学生们现在一定是很累，但是我觉得他们到了波兰后心里应该是感觉轻松了很多。我们车上带了足量的水、饼干、香肠、罐头、毯子和医疗物品。

The process of evacuating overseas Chinese and students from Ukraine is still underway. The Chinese embassy in Ukraine is working with the Chinese embassies in Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary to help Chinese nationals get to these countries. The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said today that China is communicating with parties to explore all feasible plans to continue facilitate the evacuation【撤离】 of its citizens from Ukraine.

中国驻有关国家使（领）馆、组织撤离侨民以及在乌留学人员的进程，正在持续推进。中国驻乌克兰大使馆正在与中国驻摩尔多瓦、罗马尼亚、斯洛伐克和匈牙利大使馆合作，帮助中国公民撤离到这些国家。中国外交部发言人汪文斌今天表示，中国正在与各方沟通，探索所有可行的计划，继续为中国公民从乌克兰撤离提供便利。

Wang also noted that China urged the relevant parties not to undermine the legitimate rights and interests of China and other parties when dealing with the Ukrainian issue and their relations with Russia. China and Russia will continue to conduct normal trade cooperation in the spirit of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.

汪文斌还表示，中国敦促有关各方在处理乌克兰问题及其与俄罗斯的关系时，不要损害中国和其他各方的合法权益。中俄将继续本着相互尊重、平等互利的精神开展正常贸易合作。
