冬奥近在咫尺，中国运动员入住冬奥村

It's ten days until the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. A ceremony for the Chinese team was held today (January 25) at Tian'anmen Square and leaders from around the world sent best wishes for a successful Games. Sun Siqi takes a look. 

倒计时十天，北京2022年冬奥会就将拉开序幕。今日（1月25日）北京冬奥会中国体育代表团的运动员和教练员代表在北京天安门广场观看升国旗仪式。同时，世界各地的领导人纷纷发来祝福，祝愿本届冬奥会能够顺利开展。

After the ceremony, Chinese athletes entered the Olympic bubble, which means they are now isolated from the rest of society and will be transported between venues【举办场地】in special vehicles. 

仪式结束后，中国体育代表团成员入住冬奥村。他们将陆续进入闭环管理，并将乘坐特殊车辆在场地间实现往返。

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres called for【呼吁，号召】nations to observe the Olympic truce. A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson called on the countries to use the Games as an opportunity to promote peace, dialogue and reconciliation【和解】.

联合国秘书长安东尼奥·古特雷斯呼吁各国遵守奥林匹克休战协议。而中国外交部发言人也呼吁各国通过冬奥运会的契机，来促进和平、增强对话、实现和解。

Athletes from around the world have been trickling【缓缓进入...】in to Beijing. Russia is sending a delegation of more than 500, including over 210 athletes. Three athletes from Iran qualified for the Olympics and departed yesterday (January 24) for Beijing.

来自世界各地的运动员都正陆续抵达北京。俄罗斯派出了500多名成员组成的代表团，其中包括210多名运动员。获得参赛资格的三名伊朗运动员昨日离开本国，前往北京。

Cairo Tower in the Egyptian capital held a light show countdown yesterday to commemorate the Games. Cambodia's King Norodom Sihamoni and South Korea's National Assembly speaker Park Byeong-seug are scheduled to attend the opening ceremony.

位于埃及首都的开罗塔于昨日举行了灯光表演倒计时来纪念奥运会的开展。柬埔寨的国王诺罗敦·西哈努克与韩国国会议长朴炳锡预计出席冬奥开幕式。

2. SHANGHAI HELPS TO GUARANTEE A HAPPY SPRING FESTIVAL

Spring Festival is right around the corner, and in fact today (January 25) celebrates Chinese Little New Year, or Xiaonian. We're starting a series today showing how Shanghai is now handling the business of ensuring everyone -- even those less fortunate -- can enjoy the traditional holiday. We call it Happier New Year, and in this first episode our reporter Zhang Shixuan finds out what's being done to help local families in need, to spend a happy festival week.

春节近在咫尺。其实，今天（1月25日）也是中国的小年。从今天起，我们将陆续展示上海如何保障包括低保家庭在内的家家户户都能够过个好年。本次我们将走进当地的低保家庭，来看看如何让他们能够欢度春节。

From the energetic playing of the guitar, to the happy singing and the ear-to-ear grins【笑容满面】, you would hardly expect that this is a family that earns only around 2,000 yuan (about 316 dollars) a month. For 54-year-old Xue Zhiyun and her 16-year-old son, these happy moments are the fruit of the subsistence allowances that they received from the government.

在充满活力的吉他演奏、悦耳的歌声和满面笑容中，你很难想象这是一个月收入只有2000元左右的家庭。但对于一位54岁的母亲和她16岁的儿子而言，这些无比欢乐的时光得益于政府为他们提供的生活补贴。

“It's hard for me to live with a child in Shanghai. We need at least 3,000 yuan (about 474 dollars) for basic living expenses, and my pay is definitely not enough. But now we get an allowance of 800 yuan (about 126 dollars) a month, for my son's studies and for necessities. We get by pretty well.” 带个孩子在上海维持生活很困难，每个月最基本生活费要3000多，工资肯定不够的。有了补贴，每个月800多，现在用于孩子学习，买一些生活用品，可以生活的很好了。

This will be the first Spring Festival since last June, when the family started receiving the allowances. They aim to help people in need cover basic expenses like food, housing and healthcare. And the family of 2 will also get an extra allowance for the upcoming festival.

去年6月，这个家庭便开始领取生活津贴，而这也是他们在领取补贴后过的第一个春节。政府提供的补贴用来帮助经济困难的家庭支付食物、住房和医疗保健等基本费用。临近春节，这个两口之家还将获得额外的补贴。

“I never knew much about Shanghai's local policies, as I was kind of new here. But the subdistrict officials contacted us last Spring, and said that they would help me apply for the subsistence allowance. It just took 3 or 4 months to start receiving it.” 原来到上海时间不长，不太了解上海的政策。去年春天，有一次偶然机会街道领导接触到我们，提起这个事情，领导帮助我申请这个低保，大概3-4个月就拿到补贴了。

And other residents in the neighborhood are also helping out, in their own way ... Around 10 in the morning, the door was knocked on as usual by their neighbor, Liu Yuwei, a sophomore student. She has been offering free tutoring to Guo Yizhou for a year now.

周边的其他居民也在以他们的方式为低保家庭提供帮助。上午10点左右，他们的邻居像往常一样敲了敲门。她为郭提供免费辅导已经一年了。

Shanghai's Changning District now has more than 2,700 families -- more than 4,100 residents -- like them who will have a more pleasant spring festival this year thanks to this series of allowances. And the government is making every effort to ensure they do.

上海市长宁区现有2700多户低保家庭，超过4100多个居民。就像他们一样，得益于春节的补贴，低保家庭今年将迎来一个更愉快的春节。而政府正在尽一切努力，确保他们能够过个好年。

“Our district leaders, subdistrict leaders and helpers from the society have come together, so as to expand the groups of residents that we can visit, and better understand their needs. We save all this in our system. And we've also asked in social work advisors to help with our on-site investigations, to find out those who really need help now.” 我们把区领导、街镇领导、社会救助联席会成员单位和社会力量统筹起来，尽可能扩大走访群众数量，更好了解群众民意。我们运用了经验，采取综合帮扶系统、社区云+精准帮扶，在街镇输入信息，在线上就可以发现，我们还有社会救助顾问，入户排查，把一些沉默的少数及时发现，及时救助。

So, it's not just those 2,700 families who are getting the special Spring Festival allowances. Other residents including those with emergency financial needs, the severely disabled and unemployed, and those with high medical bills will all receive extra allowances for the upcoming festival this year.

除了2700户家庭得到了特别的春节补贴，那些有紧急经济需求的人、严重残疾者和失业者、医疗费用高昂的人都将获得额外的春节津贴。

This district alone will give out【分发】20 million yuan (about 3 million dollar) in allowances to some 32,000 residents ... to help them spend a warmer and happier Spring Festival.

仅长宁区就将向3.2万居民提供2000万元的补贴，而这些补贴足以让他们度过了一个更温暖、更愉快的春节。

3. TAIWAN RESIDENTS CAN NOW GET FREE BOOSTER SHOT IN SH

同等待遇！台胞接种加强疫苗

People from Taiwan who live in Shanghai aged 18 and above can now get a free coronavirus booster shot and children aged 3 to 11 are now eligible【有资格的】for their first two vaccine doses in Shanghai. Zhang Hong tells us more.

居住在上海、18岁及以上的台湾民众现可免费接种新冠肺炎加强疫苗。而3至11岁的儿童也能够在上海接种前两剂疫苗。

At Qingpu Sports Center today（January 25）, some people from Taiwan came to get a booster shot. A company manager said she made a reservation last night after seeing the announcement.

青浦体育中心今天（1月25日）迎来了一批来自台湾的民众注射加强疫苗。一位公司经理表示，昨晚看到接种公告后，她就进行了预约。

“I made a reservation as soon as possible and told others in our company to get a booster shot here. All of our employees were fully vaccinated earlier.” 我们一看到通知，就马上来预约。然后组织公司的台籍同胞一起来打。我们所有的台籍人员，包括公司所有员工全部都打了前两针疫苗。

Many said they received their second dose last April or May, and feel they will be safer if get a booster shot.

许多人表示，他们于去年4月、5月接种了第二剂疫苗，觉得继续接种加强针会更安全。

“The whole process was smooth. Having access to a booster shot here is very reassuring【令人安心的】for us.” 从进来这个流程，一直到打完，是非常顺畅的。对于在这边生活的台胞来讲，有非常好的保障。

People from Taiwan who live in Shanghai and hold a Mainland Travel Permit can reserve a booster shot on the Jiankangyun app. Starting from 8pm today (January 25), adults and children aged between 3 and 11 from Hong Kong and Macao, as well as foreigners can make a reservation for a booster shot online. They can get a jab as early as tomorrow (January 26).

现居上海并持有大陆旅行许可证的台湾用户均可以在建康云应用程序上预约加强针注射。从今天（1月25日）晚上8点开始，来自香港和澳门的成人、3至11岁儿童以及外国人也可以在网上进行预约。最快明天（1月26日）就可以进行接种。
