inept /ɪˈnept/ 缺乏技巧的；无能的；笨拙的

这个词的英英释义是 acting or done with no skill，其实就是说不会做；搭配介词用 at，be inept at doing something. 来描述长辈们面对现代科技的那种无力感非常形象。

She was left feeling inept and inadequate. 

她被弄得感到笨拙无能。 

In our country, there's a growing elderly population. Now we have more than 264 million people aged 60 and above.

elderly / ˈeldərli/ adj. 年长的

在描述老年人的时候，通常不会直接说 old people，而会用更委婉，也更尊重一些的单词，就是这个 elderly，比如年长的夫妇，the elderly couple，老年人群体，the elderly，老龄化人口 elderly population.

The program is intended to provide medical care for elderly people.

这个项目就是为了给老年人提供医疗服务。

Our country is entering an aging society. / The population is aging.

我们国家进入了老龄化时代。

age /eɪdʒ/ 变老

age 做名词是表示年龄，年代；还可以做动词，表示变老。这里教大家一个句子，夸长辈肯定会很受用。
