Describe a person who solved a problem in a smart way

The first person that comes to my mind is John who is a talented guy, especially, in physics and mathematics.

The problem occurred in my primary school while I was taking a break at school. Our classmates decided to play a draw-and-guess game on the electric board. It was my turn and I drew a comic picture of my math teacher while the preparation bell was ringing. I hurriedly used the rags to clean it up, but it didn’t work. I soon realized that markers’ stain couldn’t be erased on the electronic board. At that moment, I could only think of one thing-ants on a hot pan as my math teacher would arrive at any minute and he resents students writing on the white board. 

At that emergent moment, John turned up and told me not to worry. He quickly came up with an idea of using alcohol to get rid of it. 

Finally, we managed to clean up the board just before my math teacher arrived. It would have been a disaster without him. I couldn’t thank him more for what he had done to handle the situation in such an ingenious way.
