                            Reading with Catty Jane

One summer day, Catty Jane went to the lake with her friends.

Goose went fishing. Froggy went swimming. Piggy took a nap.

And Catty Jane sat down to read her newest book.

“Catty Jane,” called Froggy, “come swim with me!”

“No, thanks,” she said. “I don’t like to get wet.”

“Do you want to fish?” asked Goose. “I have an extra pole.”

“No, thanks,” said Catty Jane. “I want to finish this story about a princess.”

“Did someone call my name?” asked Piggy, waking up from her nap.

“No. I said that I’m reading a story about a princess,” replied Catty Jane. “Do you want to hear it?”  

“Oh yes!” cried Piggy.

Then Goose put down his fishing pole. Froggy hopped out of the lake. And everybody sat and listened as Catty Jane read the story.
