The boys went to the marked rock，full of anticipation.
“My goodness，Huck！Look here！＂
They found the treasure box，along with an empty powder keg，a couple of guns in leather cases，three pairs of old moccasins，and a leather belt.
“We＇ve got it at last！＂said Huck.＂We’re
rich，Tom！＂
“I always knew we would find it！”said
Tom.“Now let＇s get out of here.”
The boys decided to hide the box in the
Welshman's grounds for the time being.
They chose his place because they knew that he would not be home. Soon after the boys had finished burying their treasure box，the
Welshman came home.
“Here you are，boys，”he said.”I’ve been looking all over for you. Come with me.”
A few minutes later，Tom and Huck found themselves being pushed into Mrs. Douglas＇drawing room.The place was grandly lighted，and everybody that was of any consequence in the village was there.
The Thatchers were there，the Harpers，the
Rogerses，Aunt Polly，Sid，Mary，the minister.and a great many more people were there. They were all dressed in their best. The widow received the boys as heartily as anyone could.
“What trouble are we in now?” Tom thought to himself.
