My best friend of many years is leaving China. I drove him to the airport this morning. I wish I could’ve walked with him all the way to the boarding gate. But I had to say goodbye before baggage check. “Ciao, have a safe trip” I told him. “Ciao” is actually an Italian word,pronounced “Ch-ao”, but it is often used in English to mean bye.

我多年最好的朋友要离开中国了。早上我开了车送他去机场。我是多么想可以陪他走到登机口。可惜到了过安检那里就要告别了。我对他说“Ciao, have a safe trip”，走好，一路顺风。Ciao其实是个意大利语字，但是英语也经常用。这个读成Ch-ao代表再见（意大利语里也可以是你好的意思）。
