The science of perispiration

Story time

a young nurse in South Africa, she found out her sweat is red. She works as a nurse, image at the end of the shift, she would have “blood” on the cloth , quite funny

She would soak her nurse uniform every night for hours

She passsed every test, she is HEALTHY , what is going on ?

Actually, in South Africa there is these red chips.NikNaks Spicy tomato chips… She is addicated to them , she would eat 1-5 lbs a week. Just snack on them constantly

And her sweat turned red………….

Rare condition

How long would it take for the fluid you take and come out as sweat

Study done, where they would drink a tracer with water, and then go right into a sauna with a timer. Collect sweat and measure it…..

Takes about 15 minutes

In an ideal situation, water will go from your mouth—>stomach—>ingestine—>pores in 15 minutes

Why human design and sweating help us survive

We are bipedalism, we stand. It is rare for animals to have pores all over the body, dog, bourse ,etc

We have 2-5 million sweat pores

So we are evolved to sweat

And when we are standing up , we actually eliminated the amount of body exposed in the environment , 7%,, comparing to a dog or four legged animals

When the sun is out, humans are avaliabl to travel around while the other predator has to find cover
