CPC membership exceeds 95 million
中国共产党党员总数9514.8万名

The Communist Party of China (CPC) has 95.148 million members as of June 5, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee announced on Wednesday. Membership was 3.5% up from the figure reported at the end of 2019, and approximately 20 times more than the figure in 1949 when the People's Republic of China (PRC) was founded, the department said in a report ahead of the CPC's centenary on July 1. In 1921 when it was founded, the CPC had more than 50 members. 
2021年7月1日是中国共产党成立100周年。中央组织部6月30日发布的最新党内统计公报显示，截至2021年6月5日，中国共产党党员总数为9514.8万名，比2019年底增长3.5%，比1949年新中国成立时增长约20倍。1921年中国共产党成立时只有50多名党员。

About 2.31 million people joined the CPC in the first half of this year, the statement added. "The continuous increase of members has shown the strong vitality of the Party and the prosperity of the Party's cause," the statement said. The number of primary-level Party organizations has increased from 195,000 when the PRC was founded to 4.864 million, an increase of about 24 times, according to the statement.
今年上半年，全国新发展党员约231万名。公报称，更多的新鲜血液加入党的队伍，彰显出党的强大生机与活力，展现出党的事业兴旺发达、欣欣向荣的蓬勃气象。党的基层组织由新中国成立时的19.5万个增至486.4万个，增长约24倍。

China to steadily improve social security benefits

China will steadily improve its social security benefits during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), a plan released by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security announced Wednesday. By 2025, the country's basic old-age insurance coverage will reach 95%, the plan said. In the five years, China plans to establish a basic pension scheme for enterprise employees under unified national management and boost the supplementary pension fund to over 4 trillion yuan. Efforts would gradually raise the retirement age and increase unemployment insurance and work-related injury insurance coverage to 230 million and 280 million, respectively, it said. 
人社部6月30日印发规划，要求"十四五"时期社保待遇水平稳步提高，到2025年，基本养老保险参保率达到95%。规划提出，"十四五"时期，建立实施企业职工基本养老保险全国统筹制度，补充养老保险基金规模超过4万亿元。稳妥实施渐进式延迟法定退休年龄。失业保险、工伤保险参保人数分别达到2.3亿人、2.8亿人。

From 2021 to 2025, China aims to create more than 50 million new urban jobs, keep its surveyed urban unemployment rate within 5.5%, and subsidize professional training programs with 75 million attendances. The country will also move faster to train technicians and skilled workers, improve the income distribution system, create harmonious and stable labor relations, and enhance public service regarding human resources and social security, said the document.
规划提出，"十四五"时期城镇新增就业5000万人以上，城镇调查失业率控制在5.5%以内；开展补贴性职业技能培训7500万人次。规划还提出，加快培养技术技能人才队伍，完善工资收入分配制度，打造和谐稳定的劳动关系，完善人力资源和社会保障公共服务体系。

Book on CPC history to be published in English
'中国共产党简史'出英文版

A book on the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will soon be published in English by the Central Compilation and Translation Press. The content of the book is consistent with the Chinese version, which succinctly describes the extraordinary achievements and experiences of the CPC over the past century as it led the Chinese people and steered China toward national rejuvenation. 
《中国共产党简史》英文版将于近日由中央编译出版社出版发行。该书在内容上与《中国共产党简史》中文版保持一致，记录一百年来中国共产党为实现民族复兴，团结带领人民进行革命、建设、改革的伟大成就和宝贵经验。
