Charles Dickens is one of England's most famous novelists. He described the life in the middle of the 19th century, a period that is now called Victorian. As it is when Queen Victorian ruled Britain. Many of Dickens' novels take place in London. The photo shows a famous scene from the film of Oliver Twist, one of his most popular novels. Oliver is a poor orphan boy who lives with other children in a large house called a workhouse.
