WHO validates Sinovac vaccine
科兴疫苗获世卫紧急认证

The World Health Organization validated on Tuesday the CoronaVac COVID-19 vaccine developed by Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac for emergency use. According to the WHO's Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization, the Sinovac vaccine is recommended for use in adults 18 years and older, in a two-dose schedule with a spacing of two to four weeks. 
世界卫生组织6月1日宣布，由中国北京科兴中维生物技术有限公司研发的新冠灭活疫苗"克尔来福"正式通过世卫组织紧急使用认证。根据世卫组织免疫战略咨询专家组的意见，世卫组织建议科兴疫苗用于18岁及以上成年人，采用两剂接种、间隔时间为2至4周。

The vaccine efficacy results showed the Sinovac vaccine prevented severe COVID-19 and hospitalization in 100 percent of the studied population. In an official press release, WHO Assistant Director-General for Access to Health Products Mariangela Simao said: "The world desperately needs multiple COVID-19 vaccines to address the huge access inequity across the globe. We urge manufacturers to participate in the COVAX Facility, share their know-how and data and contribute to bringing the pandemic under control."

'Reunion' campaign finds missing children
'团圆'行动寻回千余名儿童

Chinese police have located or rescued 1,680 missing or abducted children this year, the Ministry of Public Security said on Tuesday. Since the nationwide campaign for tuanyuan, meaning “reunion” in Chinese, was launched in January, police have resolved 85 cold cases involving child abduction or trafficking and organized more than 400 family reunions, the ministry told a press conference. One victim had been separated from their family for 54 years, it said. A total of 223 suspects were arrested in connection with abduction cases during the period.

The Ministry of Public Security established a national DNA database to fight child trafficking in 2009 and launched the online platform Tuanyuan in May 2016. Over the past five years, the platform has helped find more than 4,700 missing children.

Property loans increase at slowest pace
银行房贷增速创8年新低

As of the end of April, loans to China's property sector expanded by 10.5 percent year-on-year, a growth rate at an eight-year low, said Liang Tao, vice chairman of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, at a news conference on Tuesday. The balance of trust loans and the amount of wealth management products in the sector also continued to decline, Liang said. In particular, the amount of wealth management products associated with non-standard property assets dropped by 36 percent year-on-year.

New hybrid COVID variant found in Vietnam
越南发现混合变异毒株

"Vietnam has uncovered a new COVID-19 variant combining characteristics of the two existing variants first found in India and the UK," Nguyen Thanh Long, Vietnam's Health Minister said at a government meeting on Saturday. Nguyen said the new hybrid variant was more transmissible than previously known versions, especially in the air. He described the latest mutation as "very dangerous". Nguyen said it was discovered after running tests on newly detected patients, and added the genetic code of the virus would be made available soon. 
越南卫生部长阮青龙5月29日在政府会议上透露："越南发现了一种新的新冠变异毒株，兼具在印度和英国首次发现的两种现有变异病毒的特点。"阮青龙指出，新的混合型变异毒株比以往发现的毒株传染性都更强，尤其是在空气中。他表示这一最新变异毒株"非常危险"。阮青龙说，新毒株是在对新近确诊患者进行检测后发现的。他补充道，该毒株的基因序列很快就会公布。

Vietnam has seen a spike in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks. The country has registered more than 6,700 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic. Of those, more than half have been recorded since late April this year. It has also recorded 47 COVID-related deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
最近几周，越南的新冠确诊病例数量飙升。自从疫情暴发后，越南确诊病例数已经超过了6700例，其中超半数都是今年四月底以来确诊的。根据约翰斯•霍普金斯大学的数据，截至目前越南的新冠死亡病例总数为47例。
