说课:Humans and Nature,Topic Talk
Module 2, Unit 5, Humans and Nature, Topic talk
Greeting and Self-introduction
Good morning dear teachers and judges, I'm No.__. It's my honor to stand here to share with you some of my ideas of teaching. The lesson I'm going to present is the Topic Talk of Unit 5, model 2, Humans and Nature. I'm going to share with you my points of view on the following nine parts.
Part One: Analysis of the Learners
The students I am teaching are from one of the advanced classes of MTC Senior High School. They have been learning English for no less than six years. So they all have a basic command of the English language. They are active and ambitious teenagers, eager to express and improve themselves. But as they have just graduated from junior middle school, they may have a limited vocabulary.
Another common phenomenon is that the teenagers nowadays spend more screen time indoors with their electronic devices, which makes it difficult for them to get close to nature.
Part Two: Analysis of the Teaching Material
The topic of unit 5 is Humans and Nature. Topic Talk serves as a warm-up and lead-in of the whole unit.
According to what we know about our learners, here is what we teachers are supposed to do in this lesson: to enlarge their vocabulary, improve their language ability and cultivate their love of nature and their awareness of environmental protection.
There are two pieces of listening materials in this lesson. One is mainly about describing the beauty of nature, which is to remind the students to pay more attention to the natural environment around them. The other is about environmental problems and what the students should do as responsible young adults. After each listening exercise, there is a talking exercise, aiming to strengthen what they've learned and improve the students' ability to express themselves using what they've learned flexibly.
Part Three: Teaching Aims
Knowledge Aims:
To learn some nature-related new words and expressions through listening and talking.
To get familiar with relative clauses with relative adverbs.
Ability Aims:
To listen for general understanding and specific information
To talk about natural and environmental problems and come up with possible solutions

To raise students' awareness of being responsible to nature
