China's trials of digital RMB expanded into six more areas by the end of 2020, and the final timetable to officially launch this digitalized legal tender has not yet been decided, said a senior central bank official on Monday. The trials now focus on small and retail payments for some selected groups of users. New pilot areas were expanded to Shanghai, Changsha in Central China's Hunan province, Xi'an in Northwest China's Shaanxi province, Qingdao in East China's Shandong province, Dalian in Northeast China's Liaoning province and South China's Hainan province by October 2020, according to Li Bin, head of the Macroprudential Policy Bureau of the People's Bank of China, the central bank. 
中国人民银行审慎管理局局长李斌4月12日透露，到2020年10月数字人民币增加了上海、海南、长沙、西安、青岛、大连6个试点测试地区。目前数字人民币总体处于试点测试阶段，正式推出还没有时间表。数字人民币试点测试以受邀白名单用户小额交易为主。

The pilot programs of digital RMB are expanding, with a gradual increase of the application scenarios and innovations of the application mode. The overall operation system is stable, which preliminarily verifies the feasibility and reliability of digital RMB's policy, technology and relevant services, Li said. So far, the testing scenarios have included living payment, catering service, transportation, shopping and government services, and the central bank will step up testing to improve the security and stability of the digital RMB system, he added.
目前数字人民币试点范围有序扩大，应用场景逐步丰富，应用模式持续创新，系统运行总体稳定，初步验证了数字人民币在理论政策、技术和业务上的可行性和可靠性。使用场景覆盖生活缴费、餐饮服务、交通出行、购物消费、政务服务等多个领域。下一阶段央行将进一步测试，提升系统的安全性、稳定性。

Offshore duty-free sales to double
海南免税经济持续升温

Offshore duty-free sales in China's southern island province of Hainan are expected to double in 2021 for the second year in a row, as fine-tuned favorable policies continue to draw more consumers, an official said Monday. The island's offshore duty-free sales are likely to exceed 60 billion yuan in 2021, up from 30 billion yuan last year, which had doubled from 15 billion yuan in 2019, Shen Xiaoming, Party chief of Hainan, said at a press conference. 

海南省委书记沈晓明在4月12日的国新办新闻发布会上表示，海南离岛免税销售额今年有望突破600亿元。他说：“我们适时调整了离岛免税政策，吸引境外消费回流。去年在前年150亿的基础上翻了一番，做到300亿，今年预计能够超过600亿。”

Hainan has vowed to build itself into an international tourism consumption center. The province has increased the annual tax-free shopping quota per person from 30,000 yuan to 100,000 yuan starting from July 1, 2020. The categories of duty-free goods have also been expanded from 38 to 45, with electronic products such as mobile phones and laptops added to the duty-free list.
海南将推进国际旅游消费中心建设。自2020年7月1日开始，海南离岛免税购物额度从每人每年3万元提高至10万元。免税商品类别从38种扩大到45种，手机和笔记本电脑等电子产品也加入了免税商品名单。

'Dinosaur dance floor' discovered
福建上杭发现'恐龙舞池'

A team of Chinese researchers have found a massive concentration of dinosaur footprints, scientifically termed as "dinosaur dance floor," in Shanghang county, east China's Fujian province. 

我国科考团队在福建省上杭县发现了大量同时期恐龙足迹化石，即业内所称的"恐龙舞池"。

The "dance floor" is an excavation site measuring 100 square meters and approximately 200 dinosaur tracks have been identified there, said Xing Lida, a paleontologist at the China University of Geosciences and a member of the research team. The concentration of dinosaur footprints indicates that it could have been a pathway for dinosaurs roaming the area in a relatively short period of time during the Late Cretaceous, he added.
据中国地质大学古生物学者、该科考团队成员邢立达介绍，科考团队在一处100平方米的清理现场发现了约200枚恐龙足迹。邢立达说，这个区域恐龙足迹非常多，意味着该区域可能是晚白垩世恐龙日常活动的一个通道，当时在比较短的时间内有很多恐龙在此来回走动。

J&J COVID vaccine sites shutdown
美多地暂停接种强生疫苗

Several states in the US have temporarily shut down some Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine sites after people suffered adverse reactions to the shot. A total of 18 people in North Carolina reported side effects, while 11 people in Colorado reacted to the shot with symptoms ranging from dizziness, nausea and fainting, according to media reports. 
由于部分接种者出现不良反应，美国多个州临时关闭了多处强生新冠疫苗接种点。据媒体报道，北卡罗来纳州共有18人报告了接种该疫苗后的不良反应，科罗拉多州也有11人出现了头晕、恶心、昏厥等不良反应。

Georgia was the third US state to temporarily shut down a vaccine site following North Carolina and Colorado, after eight people suffered adverse reactions following vaccination. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said its analysis "did not find any safety issues or reason for concern." The agency recommended that healthcare providers continue to administer the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
