Archaeological【考古学的】experts announced today that the SanxingduiRuins in southwest China's Sichuan Province can be traced back to more than3,000 years ago.

考古专家今天宣布，位于中国西南部四川省的三星堆遗址可以追溯到3000多年前。

According to theSichuan Provincial Cultural Relics【遗迹】 and Archaeology Research Institute, preliminary【初步的】radiocarbon【放射性碳】dating on samples unearthed from Pit Number4 have confirmed that it was dug between 1,199 and 1,017 BC, making it 3,000 to3,200 years old. This discovery means that Pit Number 4 dates back to the lateShang Dynasty. More discoveries lie ahead as excavation【挖掘】and research work is underway at six newlyuncovered sacrificial pits【祭祀坑】at the Sanxingdui site.

据四川省文物考古研究院介绍，4号坑出土样品经放射性碳年代测定后，可初步证实其出现时间为公元前1199年至1017年之间，也就是距今3200至3000年前。这一发现意味着4号坑可以追溯到商代晚期。随着对六处新发现的三星堆遗址祭祀坑的挖掘和研究工作，更多新的发现将一一浮出水面。
