Following the typical progression oftaiyang direct inward to theYang Ming, one can first needle the footYang Ming channel. In this way, one can course the channel qi, rouse the stomach yang, support the right, dispel the pathogen, and prevent the shift.

若疾病没有自愈，医者应采取必要的手段来预防传经。太阳传阳明是典型常见的过程，故可先针足阳明经。通过针刺使经气流通，鼓舞胃阳支持正气，以驱散病邪，预防传经。
