 1.*amend [ə'mend]
 v. 改正，改善 
 make amends for 补偿，赔偿…损失
 He wanted to make amends for causing their marriage to fail. 
 他想为一手造成他们婚姻的破裂做出补偿。 

 2.remedy ['remɪdɪ]
 vt./n. 补救，治疗，赔偿
 A great deal has been done internally to remedy the situation. 
 内部已经采取了很多措施来挽救局面。 

 3.*proceed [prə'siːd]
 vi. 开始，继续进行，发生
 We need to think about how to proceed from here. 
 我们需要想一下从这儿怎么开始。 

 4.*succeed [sək'siːd]
