Brazil, a South American country, declared its independence from Portugal on September 7, 1822.

Brazil is also the only country in Americas whose official language is Portuguese. It is one of the most multi-culturally and ethnically diverse nations thanks to worldwide immigration over a century. The country is classified as an upper-middle income economy and is the richest in Latin America.
