愚蠢的牧羊犬

Mrs. Boot is a farmer. She has two children, called Poppy and Sam, and a dog called Rusty.

There is a man called Ted who works on Apple Tree Farm. He had just bought a sheepdog to help him with the sheep. The sheepdog is called Patch.
苹果农场有个叫做泰德的男人。他刚刚买了条牧羊犬帮助自己管理羊群。这条牧羊犬叫做帕奇。

One day, Poppy, Sam and Rusty paid visit to Ted, and they said hello to Patch. “ Come on, Patch,” said Sam. “We’ll show you all the animals on our farm.”
一天，波比、萨姆还有Rusty去拜访泰德，他们向帕奇打了招呼。“快点，帕奇，”萨姆说，“我们要带你去看看农场里的动物。”

First, they looked at the hens. Patch jumped into the hens ran and chased the hens. They were frightened and flied up into their house.
最开始，他们去看了母鸡。帕奇跳到鸡群里开始追着母鸡跑。她们吓坏了，飞回了鸡窝里。

“Now, we’ll go and see the cows.” said Sam. Then, Patch ran into the field and barked at the cows. But they just stood and stared at him.
“现在我们去看看奶牛。”萨姆说。然后，帕奇跑进了牧场冲着奶牛叫。但是奶牛只是站在那里看着他并不理会。

Then they looked at the pigs. Patch jumped into the pig pen and chased all the pigs into their little house.
之后，他们又去看小猪。帕奇跳进栅栏，把所有的猪都赶回了房子里。

Sam shouted at Patch, “ Come here, you silly thing. You are meant to be a sheepdog. Ted will have to send you back.”
萨姆冲着帕奇喊道：“过来，你个傻东西，你可是要做一只牧羊犬的。泰德会把你送回去的。”

They went to the sheep field. “ Look,” said Sam, “One sheep is missing.” “Yes, it’s that naughty Woolly again.” said Ted.
他们去了牧羊的牧场。“看，”萨姆说，“有一只羊不见了。” “对，又是那只淘气的Woolly。”泰德说。

Patch ran away across the field. Ted, Sam, Poppy and Rusty ran after him.

帕奇穿过牧场跑远了。泰德、波比和Rusty追着他跑。

Patch dived through the hedge. He barked and barked. “ What has he found?” said Sam. They all went to look.
帕奇钻到树篱下。他大叫起来，“他发现什么了？”萨姆说道。他们都过去看。

Patch had found a boy. The boy patted Patch. “ Hello,” he said, “ I wondered who brought you when my dad sold his farm.”
帕奇找到了一个小男孩。这个男孩拍了拍帕奇。“你好呀，”他说，“我还在想，我爸爸把农场卖了之后会谁把你带过来呢。”

The boy had found a sheep. “ There is Woolly,” said Sam. “ I found her on the road,” said the boy. “ I was bringing her back.”
这个小男孩找到了一只羊。“Woolly在这，”萨姆说。“我在路上发现了她，”小男孩说。“我正要把她送回去”。

The boy whistled to Patch. Patch chased Woolly back through the gate. Woolly ran into the field with the other sheep.
男孩冲着帕奇吹了口哨。帕奇赶着Woolly进了大门。Woolly和其他的羊一起跑进了牧场。

Ted stared in surprise. “Patch doesn’t do anything I tell him,” said Ted. “ You don’t know how to whistle,” said the boy.
泰德看了开始惊讶，“我说什么帕奇都不听我的，”泰德说。“因为你不会吹口哨。”男孩回答。

“ You must teach me how to whistle to Patch,” said Ted. “He is not a silly dog after all.” said Sam.
“你一定要教教我怎么冲帕奇吹口哨，”泰德说。“他毕竟不是一只傻狗。”萨姆说。
