Episode 1
Dockwrath, attorney by profession and a tenant of Orley Farm, is convinced that there are suspicious circumstances regarding the inheritance of the estate, and he is determined to prove it.

Episode 2
Romance is in the air for the young folk staying at Noningsby, the country home of Judge and Lady Staveley. Lady Mason accepts Sir Peregrine's invitation to spend Christmas at The Cleeve, and, in the Moulder household, there is business to consider.

Episode 3
Lady Mason has confessed to her terrible secret and her chance of marriage with Sir Peregrine has been shattered. Will her secret be exposed at the trial and will her beloved son lose Orley Farm?
