Big Spider

Once there was a big spider.In fact he was a very BIG spider.
从前，有一只大蜘蛛。实际上，他是一只非常非常大的蜘蛛。
Big Spider’s friend Yellow Bird flew by.
大蜘蛛的朋友黄鸟飞了过来。
“Have you heard?”asked Yellow Bird.“There is going to be a party in the North!”
“你听说了吗？在北边将举办一场派对！”黄鸟说。
A party!Big Spider liked the sound of that.
派对！大蜘蛛得知这个消息后很欢喜。
There would be lots of food!
那儿肯定有很多事物！
Then his friend Tree Frog hopped by.
接着，大蜘蛛的朋友树蛙跳了过来。
“Good news!”said Tree Frog.“There is going to be a party in the South!”
“好消息！在南边将举办一场派对！”树蛙说。
Big Spider felt even more excited.And even more hungry.
大蜘蛛觉得更兴奋了，同时也觉得更饿了！
Then his friend Bush Pig came by.
接着，大蜘蛛的朋友野猪经过这里。
"Guess what?" said Bush Pig."There is going to be a party in the East!"
“你猜怎么着?在东边将举办一场派对!”野猪说。
Big Spider was beginning to feel confused.
大蜘蛛觉得有点儿困惑了。
Then Baboon strolled by.
接着，狒狒散步经过这里。
"Come on!" said Baboon."There is going to be a party in the West!"
“来吧!在西边将举办一.场派对!”狒狒说。
How was Big Spider going to get to ALL the parties?
大蜘蛛要怎样才能去参加所有的派对呢?
He tied four strings round his waist.
大蜘蛛在自己的腰.上系了四根绳子，
He gave each of his friends a string.
然后把绳子的一端分别给了这四位朋友。
He asked them to give the stringa tug when their party started.
大蜘蛛让他们在派对开始时，就用力拉绳子。
That way he would not miss a thing.
这样他就不会错过任何一个派对了。
Big Spider was pleased. 
大蜘蛛很高兴。
All the had to do was wait for the first tug. But the parties all started at the same time.
他需要做的就是等着绳子被拉动。可是，四个派对在同一时间开始了。
So Yellow Bird, Tree Frog, Bush Pig and Baboon all tugged at the same time!
所以，黄鸟、树蛙、野猪和狒狒同时拉动了绳子!
Big Spider could not move.
大蜘蛛动弹不得。
His friends thought he must be asleep.
大蜘蛛的朋友们觉得大蜘蛛肯定是睡着了。
So they tugged harder.
于是他们更用力地拉绳子。
They tugged until Big Spider's belly got smaller and smaller and smaller.
他们拉呀拉，拉呀拉，大蜘蛛的腹部变得越来越小了。
And that is why spiders have got long legs and tiny, little bellies.
这就是蜘蛛拥有长长的腿和小小的腹部的原因。
