leave  vt, vi

1) go away:

 We are leaving on Sunday. 我们周日离开

They left for Shanghai yesterday. 他们昨天动身前往上海了。

2) go away finally or permanently：

When did you leave school? 你何时离开的学校？

He did not want to leave the army. 他不想退伍。

3) fail to take, bring or do sth.

I left my notebook in the classroom. 我把笔记本落在教室了。

I hate to leave my work until tomorrow. 我不愿意把今天的事推到明天做。

4) cause to remain in a certain state, place or condition:

She left her child at home.  她把孩子留在家里。

Leave your bike here. I'll look after it. 把你自行车留在这里吧，我给你看着。

Who left the door open? 谁没关门？

Who left the water running？谁没关水管？

Nothing was left undone. 所有的（工作）都完成了。

leave things about东西乱放

leave alone不管,不理

leave behind留下;追过

leave sb. in the dark不让某人知道

leave off停止

leave out省去,丢丢

leave over剩下

leave room for留下…的余地

on leave正在度假(请假)期间

ask for leave 请假
