On The Balcony

IN front of the sombre mountains, a faint, lost ribbon ofrainbow; 

在幽暗的山前，有一条淡淡的、损毁的彩虹：

And between us and it, the thunder;

And down below in the green wheat, the labourers

Stand like dark stumps, still in the green wheat.

You are near to me, and your naked feet in theirsandals, 

你在我身边，赤足穿着凉鞋，

And through the scent of the balcony's naked timber 

透过阳台上赤裸裸木材的芬芳

I distinguish the scent of your hair: so now thelimber 

我辨别出你的发香；即刻，

Lightning falls from heaven. 

迅速的闪电划破长空。

A down the pale-green glacier river floats 

沿着淡淡绿的冰河，一艘黑色的船

A dark boat through the gloom--and whither? 

飘过黑暗——又去何方？

The thunder roars. But still we have each other! 

雷声轰鸣，然而你有我，我有你！

The naked lightnings in the heavens dither 

赤裸裸的闪电在天空战栗

And disappear--what have we but each other? 

并且消失——除了我有你、你有我，还有什么？

The boat hasgone. 

黑船已经飘走。
