德克萨斯A&M大学(Texas A&M University)大学教授Eric Luttrell讲解希腊神话故事普罗米修斯。
This is the third video lecture for Unit 5: Prometheus. It focuses Aeschylus' play, Prometheus Bound. In it, I discuss a brief history of ancient Greek drama, Aeschylus' historical context, and the emergence of philosophical inquiry in 5th century Athens. I contrast Aeschylus' dramatic use of theory-of-mind with Hesiod's authoritarianism and propose that this psychological difference lies behind Aeschylus' elevation of Prometheus to a heroic figure (in contrast to Hesiod's condemnation of Prometheus as a disobedient subordinate).
