Day10-Comforting a sad friend

A: I need to take a few days off. My mom's been pretty sick lately.

B: I'm so sorry to hear that. Please take as many days off as you need.

My grandfather just passed away.

A: My condolences. I'm sure he's in a better place now.

I thought the interview went smoothly, but I didn't get the job.

B: Aw, it's okay. It wasn't meant to be. There are plenty more jobs out there!

We broke up over the weekend and I feel so heartbroken.

A: Oh, I'm so sorry about that. I know it sucks right now, but it'll get better with time.

I didn't pass my exam. Now I don't know if I'll pass the class.

B: You did your best. Study smarter for the next one and you'll do much better. I believe in you!
