1 . The main difference between equalisation in Wave 1 and 2 is the amount of air available for equalisation . It is easy to move large portions of air from the lungs to mouth at shallower depths , but at deeper depths , as we approach residual volume , we will need to learn to move smaller portions of air to the mouth.

As this begins to happen you will be able to increase the interval between successive equalisations.

4 . There are few tips for facilitating ear equalisation as follows : relax the neck and face muscles descend more slowly , equalise the pressure more
often , start equalising earlier and descend along a diagonal trajectory , rather than straight down.
