Our Band

Fourteen-year-old Emma Peters talks about her new band

Soon it will be the summer holidays again. I’m not going away with my parents this year but I don’t mind. I’m going to spend most of my time with two of my classmates, Bella and Lou.

We’ve just started a rock band whick we call Sunshine. I play the guitar and sing, Bella plays the guitar and the ketboard and Lou plays the drums. We practise in Lou’s dad’s garage and we also play in music shops and local cafes. The band has been together for four months and we’re all very good friends. I was in a different band last year but that wasn’t so much. No one wanted to practise.

We’ve written several songs and we have our own website. Over the summer we are going to make a CD with ten or maybe twelve songs on it. We’re not sure yet. We haven’t finished writing all the songs, but we’ve decided on the name of the CD. We’re going to call it The Red Room. The CD may not make us famous, but that doesn’t matter, we just enjoy our music and sharing it with other people. I can’t think of a better way to spend the summer.
