But first, I want to talk with you about dumplings.
可是现在，我想跟你聊聊饺子的事。
Are you surprised? Why would a foreigner want to talk about dumplings?
你惊讶吗？为什么一个老外要聊饺子呢？
Well, I had dumplings for lunch today! I had pork and celery dumplings. They were very good. I got them at my new favorite dumpling restaurant, which is just down the street from my house.
就是因为我今天午饭吃了饺子了！猪肉芹菜饺子，很好吃。在我最近最喜欢的饺子店吃的，离我家不远。
You know, I have lived in this house for over one year, but I didn’t go to that dumpling restaurant until last week. It was always there,and I always knew about it, but for more than one year, I didn’t try it.
你知道吗，我住这个房子住了一年多，可是我上周才去了这个餐厅。它一直都在，我也一直知道它在，可是一年多我就没去试一下。
After I did try it, I was happy that that I found such great dumplings – but I was also sad that I waited so long to try them. I could have been eating these dumplings all year!
试了以后，就很开心找到这么好吃的饺子 – 可是也有点遗憾我没有早点试一下。本来我可以吃一年这个饺子的！

I think that there is a translation mistake. "I could have been eating these dumplings all year " is the subjective mood虚拟语气 , the correct translation should be:本来我可以吃一年这个饺子的 。

Today is 小年，腊月二十三。I made dumplings for lunch. Dumplings are my daughter 's favorite food. When I made dumplings she would help to 擀饺子皮。She could do that since she was 5 years old.

I didn't eat tofu until I was 18. I didn't like the smell. My parents always said that tofu doesn't smell good but it's delicious. I didn't believe that. I didn't even try it once.

Glad to know that Shuhualaoshi likes dumplings SO much!
As a northerner, I think making dumplings is far more fun. Filling the dumplings with surprises can be very exciting. You'll feel thrilled once you eat the ones SPECIALLY made!
