'小丑'获奥斯卡11项提名

Psychological thriller film "Joker" led the race for the 92nd Academy Awards, or the Oscars, with 11 nominations, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Monday. 

13日，美国电影艺术与科学学院公布了第92届奥斯卡奖提名名单，心理惊悚片《小丑》以11项提名领跑。

Based on DC Comics characters, "Joker" is directed by Todd Phillips and stars Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role. "Joker" picked up nominations across a series of major categories, including best picture, best actor for Phoenix, and best director for Phillips. 

这部由托德•菲利普斯执导，杰昆•菲尼克斯主演的电影围绕DC漫画公司旗下经典角色展开。《小丑》获得了包括最佳影片、最佳男主角(杰昆•菲尼克斯)、最佳导演(托德•菲利普斯)在内的一系列重量级奖项的提名。

Three films were close behind "Joker" with 10 nominations each: mob drama "The Irishman," World War I epic "1917" and comedy drama "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood."

The 92nd Academy Awards ceremony will be held on Feb 9 at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Australian PM admits mistake

Australia's Prime Minister Scott Morrison has expressed regret over his handling of the bushfire crisis ravaging the country. 

澳大利亚总理斯科特•莫里森近日为自己处理肆虐全国的森林大火不力致歉。

Since September, bushfires have killed at least 28 people and destroyed thousands of homes. On Sunday, Morrison conceded there were "things I could have handled on the ground much better". 

自去年9月以来，澳大利亚森林大火已造成至少28人死亡，数千座房屋被毁。12日，莫里森承认，"有些事我可以在现场处理得更好"。

Last month, Morrison was criticized for going on holiday to Hawaii as the bushfire crisis worsened. The rising public anger at his absence eventually forced him to cut that trip short.

Morrison's government has been accused of not doing enough to address climate change, which experts say could increase the intensity, frequency and scale of bushfires.

Bushfire conditions eased on Saturday, giving firefighters temporary respite in areas where blazes are still raging. But with more hot weather expected next week, the risk was far from over, authorities warned.

Queen agrees to Harry's wish

After an urgent meeting at the queen's rural Sandringham estate in eastern England on Monday attended by the British royal family, the 93-year-old Queen Elizabeth II said she gave her blessing to her grandson Prince Harry and his wife Meghan's wish for a more independent future.

The US has dropped its designation of China as a currency manipulator, according to a report from the US Treasury Department released Monday. 

美国财政部13日发布《主要贸易伙伴的宏观经济和外汇政策》半年报告，取消对中国"汇率操纵国"的认定。

In its semiannual Report on Macroeconomic and Foreign Exchange Policies of Major Trading Partners of the United States, the Treasury Department said no major US trading partner at this time met the relevant legislative criteria for currency manipulation. 

美财政部在报告中指出，目前美国主要的贸易伙伴中，无一符合汇率操纵国相关的法定标准。

In August, amid heightened trade tensions, the US Treasury Department decided to label China a currency manipulator, drawing strong criticism from home and abroad, with many calling the designation groundless and irresponsible.

去年8月，由于中美贸易摩擦升级，美财政部决定将中国列为"汇率操纵国"，这一决定在国内外遭到强烈反对，许多人称美政府此举毫无根据且不负责任。
